Pecking birds and flock coated shell decoys

Peckers
We came up with this design approximately 3 years ago, again when we were “The Pigeon Magnet”. The idea behind the peckers is that they provide extra movement to a static decoy pattern. They are particularly useful on freshly sown fields where the soil is flat and bare or on stubbles after harvest. The idea is quite simple…it simulates a feeding pigeon and increases the willingness of pigeons to approach your decoy pattern by a) providing realistic movement b) making it look as if there’s some serious feeding going on!
We have even used our peckers on lofting poles when pigeons are feeding on ash and ivy berries and managed to get our clients shooting when others have failed! One small 1.2amp hour battery will run 3 peckers up to 8 hours continual use. Peckers come with ‘saddleback connectors’ to allow multiple connections onto one battery. The peckers also work great using our intermittent timer control too. The decoys are flock coated which eliminates any shine in rain, strong sunlight or frost and are fully detailed with real eyes, and all the white and black markings.

Flock coated shell decoys
Another one of our original ideas which have been copied to death by competitors (hey, it’s the most sincerest form of flattery though!)
Advantages of the flock coated shell decoys over any other…plastic or dead bird decoys…. - Wont shine whatever the weather
- Wont decompose
- Stackable
- Supplied with their own ‘flexi-sticks’ to raise the decoy higher….
- no need to take cradles anymore to get great decoy visibility.
- Much lighter weight than dead bird decoys
- They work…..incredibly well.
Like the pecking birds we flock coat the shell decoys and give them a high detail finish making them look uncannily realistic whatever the weather.

Using Decoys and Rotary machines.
Try to setup your hide so that the wind is on your back. This is because birds, like aircraft, need to land into the wind in order to slow themselves down. If you can’t find a place where you can setup with the wind on your back then a side wind is perfectly acceptable but make sure you place your decoys and rotary machine about 15 yards upwind.
This is so that the decoying pigeons come past your hide before reaching the pattern, giving you time to get off two shots. If you setup the decoys straight in front with a side wind then by the time you’ve fired the first shot the 2nd shot would be at a bird a long way downwind and going like a bat out of hell!
This superb unit needs no explanation. For those of you who already own an Electric Pigeon Flapper and would prefer to be in total control of when your flapper operates, this nifty remote allows you to tease even the wiliest of woodies down to your spread by allowing you to control the precise amount of movement needed to totally convince our feathered friends that theres a serious bit of grub on the ground to be had. Perfect!
